Our Car Wash was a resounding success and we would like to thank everyone who took part and had their cars cleaned by the very industrious year 6 pupils.

We raised a whopping £200 which is paying for new 5 a side goal nets.

we will add more comments from year 6 just as soon as we get them.

Dear Parents and Carers
You are invited to the launch of the

COOL Project

(Community Opportunities for Outdoor Learning)

What is it about?

With the help of the children, staff and friends of South Norwood Primary, we are hoping to raise enough money to create two outdoor learning areas. One of these areas will be for Reception and the other will be used by KS1 as well KS2 children. During the meeting we would like to share our plans with you and discuss future events and fundraising ideas.

Where will the meeting be held?

The meeting will be in the infant hall.

When will it be?

The meeting is on Thursday 10th May. It will start at 9:30am and will last for
about 20 minutes. A crèche will be available for young children.

Why should I come?

All of our children will benefit from the opportunity to learn outdoors. Outdoors is a place where open activities can occur more naturally and therefore children can explore, invent, discover and problem solve. Recent government initiatives highlight the importance of outdoor learning and we want the children of South Norwood to experience nature first hand. The outdoor areas will also provide opportunities to enhance children’s mathematical, reading and writing development through the use of giant chalkboards, activity tables and many other resources. Role-play, construction, water and sand play will be another key element of our project.

Please come along to support us in our bid to enhance your child’s learning. We need your help to make our project work!

Class Representatives

"taken from meeting minutes"

Class Representatives – Only one person (class RO) responded to the letters that were sent out.

Meg asked those present if they would be willing to act as class reps and the following agreed: Sue – 4D (possibly the other Yr4 class too) Tim – 2N (possibly the other Yr2 class too) Di – 6T, Karen – 3N. Meg said that she would ask Mandy, Pipsy, Lorraine and Jean Paul if they would be able to be reps too. Parents must be made aware of who the class reps are.

(if you are interested please let a current class rep know, the more the merrier)

News and developments to be added monday(ish)

Please be kind as this blog will probably be a work in progress for a while as the SNAPS techno bod needs to learn some stuff (at least understand a little)

Also news and developments and calls for help, ideas and assistance will be posted here as well (so no escape from us lol)

Thanks for reading and feel free to e-mail us at snapsadmin@gmail.com or leave comments on site or contact any one of our class representatives (name to follow)

Bye for now....

P.S. also keep an eye on the calender as well
